Personality, Personal Reality
We filter so much of our surroundings through our subconscious beliefs, intentions yet believe we are making sound decisions & choices.
A few months back, when I was on a Joe Dispenza retreat, I came away with something I could not wait to bring back.
That is always my intention when I invest in my own learning - to deepen my practice so I can pass on what I discover, support my clients more fully & offer even more to the Pathways to Peace community.
It was during one of Joe’s meditations when I felt the pull of “Future Self” work so strongly that I could not even tune into anything he was saying as I had a visceral reaction to it as I lay there (I took it as a big, big “YES” sign from the Universe to pursue it).
I’ve been working on this now for the last couple of months & current members will have full access to it once it’s live.
Anyway… that’s not even the point of this blog!!
I’m just SO excited about MY future self & YOU also experiencing it too.
When I was training to become a Coach, one of the mentors took us through a Future Self meditation & it was unlike anything I’d ever experienced, towards the end of the meditation, I received a message from my future self. The comfort & strength it gave me was more than any words from anyone outside of myself could have offered. It landed so deeply. It was truly so wonderful.
Fast forward a few years now and it is a practice I continue to use with coaching clients & the magic is that it allows them to access their own wisdom, they find their path, purpose and answers that they’ve been trying to answer intellectually for months!!
Ok, so that’s not the point of this blog either !?!?
The point is to share some of wisdom that I took away from my retreat.
I shall digress no more!!
And it's just this...
‘Your personality creates your personal reality” - Dr Joe’s exact words.
So what does this really mean?
Let’s look at this as an example…
Think about someone you know (or perhaps yourself at a particular time) who genuinely believed that good things never happened to them.
When something was going well, there’s a belief that it would always go wrong.
Maybe they do not fully commit to a friendship/relationship because they are already anticipating it ending in some way.
Maybe they don’t fully invest in a new job because some part of them is already preparing for disappointment. They hold back. They protect themselves.
They unconsciously create distance from the very things they desire or want because their nervous system is already running the programme of “this won't work/last”
And then, almost inevitably it doesn't last & not because the universe is cruel. But because the personality that expected loss tends to create the conditions for loss.
Holding back, half-committed, already-protecting version of themselves sent a signal, through their actions, their energy, their emotional frequency that matched the reality they feared rather than the one they wanted.
That is “your personality creates your personal reality” in action.
Consider how the opposite may play out.
For example, a person who is open & friendly, who wants to engage in conversations with new people at work. Now, who knows what can arise from just this, apart from building connections & friendships but possible opportunities may arise too.
Different personality. Different reality.
When you also take into account the RAS (your brains filtering system - the obvious example is when you think about buying a red car & then suddenly you seem to notice red cars everywhere)
We filter so much of our surroundings through our subconscious beliefs, intentions yet believe we are making sound decisions & choices.
So, maybe you notice the same patterns showing up again, or that no matter how much changes on the outside, something on the inside stays the same.
Your RAS is filtering your world through the lens of your current personality.
Your current personality is creating your current reality.
Change the personality, genuinely, in the body, not just in the mind & the filter changes.
The reality changes.
And so finally, who do you want to become?
That question is at the heart of something I have been quietly building inside Pathways to Peace.
I cannot wait to share it with you.
More very soon.
