Why We Practice Becoming Before Receiving.
We can spend so much of our lives waiting for our circumstances to change before we allow ourselves to experience those feelings. But what if we've been approaching this the wrong way around? We’ve been conditioned to experiencing the world through the lens of cause and effect. But, what if we could begin experiencing some of those qualities now.. ?
Why we practice becoming before receiving.
Here’s a little something to ponder on…
How often do we find ourselves looking towards something in the future, believing that when we finally have it, or achieve it, we'll feel differently?
When we have the relationship, the career, accolades, the finances, the confidence, the home, the opportunity whatever it might be..
Then we'll feel happier.
Then we'll feel more confident.
Then we'll feel secure, successful, peaceful or fulfilled.
We can spend so much of our lives waiting for our circumstances to change before we allow ourselves to experience those feelings.
But what if we've been approaching this the wrong way around?
We’ve been conditioned to experiencing the world through the lens of cause and effect.
But .. what if we could begin experiencing some of those qualities now, before anything in our external world changes?
What if confidence, peace, self-worth or abundance could become something we practice recognising & embodying now, rather than something we're waiting to receive?
And here's something else I'd love you to think about - what if the person you want to become isn't as far away as you think?
I believe that some of those qualities already exist within you, but you've simply become more familiar with other ways of thinking, feeling and responding?
Because so much of how we experience ourselves is shaped by what's familiar.
The thoughts we repeatedly think.
The emotional responses we return to.
The belief of what is possible for us.
And familiarity is everything.
Not because what's familiar is necessarily right for us, but because it's what we know. Our brains & bodies love familiarity.
This is really where Becoming Familiar™ begins.
It's an invitation to explore what happens when we stop relating to our future selves as someone we might become one day & begin practicing the qualities of that person in the present moment.
Not just imagining them but experiencing them, feeling them & then gradually making them feel more & more natural in our everyday lives.
I find all of this SO exciting. I have been practicing so much of this on myself over the last 6 months & I have never felt so good!!
Try, explore & let me know how they are for you.
